The Institute is pleased to partner with higher education institutions, learned societies, charities, and research organisations to run collaborative events, showcasing the latest research in philosophy to the wider public. The Institute has a wealth of expertise in academic event organisation and public engagement, and access to event facilities in Senate House, located in central London. 

Events run in collaboration with the Institute should meet at least one, but ideally more, of the following criteria:

  • Are a response to current affairs
  • Have attraction beyond the academy 
  • Are multidisciplinary
  • Meet an essential disciplinary/cross disciplinary need
  • Engage the public in ongoing research 
  • Feature knowledge exchange with business, government or the GLAM sector
  • Have impact on policy

All events run in collaboration with the Institute must be inclusive, diverse, engaged and accessible, and must be open to the public. 

Please note that we are not a grant giving body, and it is expected that collaborative event proposals will have funding in place to cover some or all costs of the event.
