The William James Prize

Jake Quilty-Dunn, associate member of the IP, has just been announced as the winner of this year’s William James Prize.

The Prize is awarded by the Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness for “the most outstanding single published contribution to the empirical or philosophical study of consciousness”. Jake’s winning paper, “Is Iconic Memory Iconic?”, is published in Philosophy and Phenomenological Research (https://doi.org/10.1111/phpr.12625).

Jake works on the ERC-funded Metacognition of Concepts project as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Oxford.

The award consists of $1500 USD and lifetime membership of ASSC. This year’s ASSC conference has been postponed, but Jake will deliver the Prize keynote lecture online. The talk will be live-streamed to all members of the ASSC in June.
