Carl Philpott
Carl Philpott is a professor of Rhinology and Olfactology at the University of East Anglia. There, he leads a number of research projects related to chronic sinusitis and smell and taste disorders. His main clinical interests include the medical and surgical treatment of chronic Rhinosinusitis, allergic fungal Rhinosinusitis and other Sino-nasal disorders. In his position as Director of the first British Smell and Taste Clinic, Professor Philpott has had the opportunity to research the impact of olfactory disorders on suffers and is currently running a trial for a potential new treatment for a reduced sense of smell. Additionally, Professor Philpott helped to establish a patient led charity, Fifth Sense, is the ENT Lead for the Eastern Local Clinal Research Network as well as the current President of the British Society for Academic Otorhinolaryngology, and Vice President of The British Otorhinolaryngology & Allied Sciences Research Society.
